This protected area is highly visible from milepost 218.8 to 219.1, and from the popular Fox Hunters’ Paradise and High Piney Spur overlooks near the Cumberland Knob National Recreation Area. The tract contains pristine tributaries and part of Roaring Fork, which make up the headwaters of the Fisher River, the drinking water supply for the town of Dobson.
