The property contains headwaters of Richland Creek, on its way to the town of Waynesville where it becomes the main feature of the Richland Creek Greenway. The property is highly visible from the Blue Ridge Parkway, particularly from the Waynesville and Saunook overlooks. Most of the tract lies within the Pinnacle Ridge Natural Heritage Area and contains “outstanding remnants” of undisturbed plant communities.
