The Wildacres Retreat includes over nine miles of creeks, many of which are designated by the state as High Quality, Trout Waters. A 2001 biological inventory identified six distinct natural communities including rich cove forest, acidic cove forest, and low mountain alluvial forest. Six plant species on the Natural Heritage Program’s “Watch List” were found on the property, including fuzzy goldenrod and southern nodding trillium.
